Out of the blue, on a Thursday, the water tap went dry in the house. No warning, nada. Then the notice from air selangor popped in with the sms, that a pipe was broken on jalan maaraof, bangsar.

Shops and houses, malls and eateries waited patiently for further notice on when this precious public utility would be restored. Hour after hour, the cut stretched till Saturday night. Residents asked for water tankers on that thursday night, and while the request was sent, the need didnt seem pressing enough for AS. Repairs took longer, and longer. It seemed one 30-year-old pipe had cracked in a few places. And the entire pipe length broke in the end. One pipe bocor, but had to fix 5 times because too many cracks. It seems Air Selangor had replaced some of the pipes in old Bangsar, but not on Jalan Maarof. Busy road la, must be. Residents in Tempinis, Terasek, Taban, waited for water tankers to deliver the precious resource.

Notice came that the water tankers were also brought in from Gombak , Batang Kali, etc. The refilling of each tanker was done in Sungai Besi. I left 3 small pails outside my gate knowing I would be hardput to carry heavier ones into the kitchen. So wonderful to have foreign workers living all around me, as they helped fill the buckets, and helped carry my 80-year-old;s neighbour’s pails into his porch. I had to do my best cos madame woof woof can be very playful. I had checked to see how long the house tank supply would last. One 8min shower takes 12-15 gallons of water, says Google. And a flush? How big is your house water tank? Such details to ponder about when there is only the bathroom water supply for 3 days. Pfft! Haha. I

‘ve gone through water cuts before, and most with notice from AS. Most last a day. This time… even some Bangsar Village kedais had to close, and eateries in and around the neighbourhood. Business gone. High-come status but new village life! I got some pictures from a neighbour. Unforgettable episode!
