In the Christmas spirit at EQ

As early as October EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur had rolled out a preview of its festive offerings for Christmas. We basked in the Christmas spirit, amidst its silver Christmas trees and decor. We tasted a variety of dishes, from the famed raclette cheese from Chalet (in Sabayon), to the dried herring rolled up in kelp from Kampachi, roast ribs, turkey and the wide spread of desserts for the season.

It was a showcase of all the goodies from its restaurants, from Sabayon to Nipah, Etoile and Bottega.

Homemade smoked salmon, slow cooked wagyu bone beef shank with roasted potatoes, lobster spaghetti, slow roasted Australian beef ribs with Barbour’s rosemary gravy and Yorkshire pudding and grilled lamb rack with wasabi sauce were just irresistible (especially the lamb rack!)

Then it was to the dessert table to savour the excellent panettone, mini mince pies, gingerbread, hazelnut torte, Yule log and raspberry roll, among others.

Mention must be made of the dried herring roll in kelp, Hokkaido scallop with ikura and wasabi sauce from Kampachi. These are some of the Osechi bites for the Japanese New Year on January 1. They are assembled in a bento-like box called jubako and are available from the restaurant.

The festive celebrations begin early at Etoile,  with Thanksgiving BBQ Brunch on 30 Nov at RM168 per adult. Christmas Eve features a BBQ Dinner (RM168). Christmas Day offers Festive Meat and Seafood Platters (from RM138).

At Nipah, enjoy festive buffet lunches daily (RM168 per adult and RM84 per child, 6–12 years old) and buffet dinners at the weekend (RM188 per adult and RM94 per child) throughout December. Special Christmas Eve buffet dinner (RM288 per adult and RM144 per child) and Christmas Day buffet lunch (RM228, adult, and RM114 per child).

 The Chalet Festive Sunday Lunch is held every Sunday in December, at RM288 per adult and RM98 per child (6–12 years old), guests may also opt for a free-flow add-on at RM188 per person that includes champagne, wine, juices, soft drinks and mocktails.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve five-course Omakase dinner at Kampachi priced at RM588 per person, with premium à la carte options available and an optional sake buffet add-on at RM150 per person. On Christmas Day, Kampachi serves a Brunch Buffet at RM288 per adult and RM98 per child (6–12 years old), with the sake buffet add-on available at RM150 per person.

Sabayon offers Christmas Eve Five-Course Dinner at RM888, RM788, and RM688 per person for private dining. A champagne trolley is available from RM888 per bottle

On Christmas Day, Sabayon’s Chalet Christmas Lunch is priced at RM308 per adult and RM154 per child, with a RM208 per person beverage add-on.

Christmas Day Five-Course Dinner continues at RM688 per person for window seats and RM588 per person for regular seats.
