Etoile takeaways to enjoy at home

I would love to have lunch or tea with pastries, cake and coffee at Etoile Bistro, at EQ Kuala Lumpur once MCO2 is relaxed. So the next best thing for me was a takeaway lunch from there.  In my selection was the Steak and Mushroom Pie, Oven Roasted Duck Leg with vegetables and sautéed potatoes and Seafood Aglio Olio. A strawberry financier was for dessert, and a loaf of sourdough would come in handy for breakfast the next day.

Steak and Mushroom Pie arrived still hot from Etoile

The food was still very warm when it arrived, especially the Steak and Mushroom Pie.  I dipped a spoon through the crispy, buttery puff pastry, and scooped up a generous portion of beef slices, mixed mushrooms and potato in a beefy sauce. It was almost like a pot pie, and it was delicious, the meaty stew eaten with the pastry.

Seafood Aglio Olio

The Seafood Aglio Olio had prawns, mussels and cherry tomatoes, with a sprinkling of chilli flakes. It travelled well, as did the Oven Roasted Duck Leg. The duck was tender, roasted in its own fat, which gave it a yummy aroma. There was broccoli, and sautéed sliced potato making up the rest of the meal.

The prices for this takeaway menu are wallet-friendly. The Steak and Mushroom Pie was RM20, as were the seafood pasta and roasted duck leg.  The sourdough (RM12) was fresh and crusty, and soft inside, just as I like it. It’s a good supplement to the lunch too, especially with the roast duck leg.

If you fancy sandwiches for lunch, you could have a Classic Club Sandwich (RM18) with chicken, turkey bacon, fried egg and mayo salad, or a bagel, croissant, baguette or panini with smoked salmon and other fillings. For instance, the Triple Cheese Decker with Edam, mozzarella and cheddar is just RM12.

Strawberry Financier

Of course there are also soups, starters, freshly baked cakes and beverages you could add to your delivery order. The Lemon Meringue Tart is irresistible, as is my Strawberry Financier for dessert.

Nipah Nasi Goreng Kampung

Elsewhere in EQ there are lunch and dinner options for takeaways. At Nipah, you could have the Nipah Nasi Goreng Kampung, Rendang Daging Basah with basmati rice, Mee Goreng Mamak, Hainanese Chicken Rice and Chicken or Beef Satay, or even a pizza, pasta and other western classics you would otherwise enjoy at the buffet line in this cafe.

Kampachi’s takeaway and delivery menu offers choices of otsumami, makimono, gohanmono, yakimono, agemono, atsumono, menrui and desserts. Highlights from the menu include Soft Kani Maki, Ebi Tempura Maki, Unadon, Sukiyaki and Abekawamochi.  Kampachi even offers a Japanese Yee Sang.
