Chinese New Year feasting at Golden Phoenix

The iconic Golden Phoenix pops up at EQ Kuala Lumpur for the Chinese New Year celebrations once again. We looked over its offerings, from Yee Sang to Roasted Duck, to its Premium Poon Choy, Braised Seafood with Longevity Noodles, and Boston Lobster with rice in superior soup and crispy rice, among other auspicious dishes.

At our table, we raise our chopsticks with the Abalone Yee Sang, alongside wishes for an prosperous, abundant and healthy Year of the Horse. The light, fruity sauce with balanced flavours binds the Yee Sang together

Steamed Glutinous Rice with dried oysters wrapped in lotus leaf is flavoursome and tempting. Golden Phoenix rice cakes and Snow skin mandarin “oranges”, and  Chilled Peach with white fungus and red date complete our pre-Chinese New Year lunch.

Set menus are priced from RM178+ to RM698+ per person (minimum four persons), while Yee Sang ranges from RM138+ to RM688+ per portion depending on selection and size. Premium Poon Choy is available at RM688+ per pot for six, and traditional roast duck is priced at RM288+ per bird.

For corporate gatherings and larger reunions, there are EQ’s Lunar New Year banquet menus, starting from RM3288+ per table of 10.

At Bottega Lounge, its Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea begins on 1 February till 3 March. At Nipah Restaurant celebratory buffets begin with dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve, then lunch and dinner on 17 and 18 February.
