Every year the International Institute of Tao Studies in Kuala Lumpur holds a talk on what Chinese New Year brings, and how to turn on the auspicious and prosperous flow of qi and to manage the inauspicious energies that affect the Tao way.
In general, the Year of the Rabbit is a good year for the Rat, Dragon, Dog and Rabbit, and a challenging one for the Rooster, Pig, Ox, Goat and Monkey. Regardless, it is highly recommended to at least carry the following:
- The Tai Sui card for the year 2023 to manage the conflict or gather support from the 2023 Tai Sui.
- The Guiding Angel cards to attract guiding angel luck to smoothen one’s path; and
- The Apparent Position and Hidden Prosperity cards to enhance one’s career, position and prosperity luck in 2023.
RAT
This year, the Rat is blessed with the Fortune Virtue star to easily deflect negative stars. If you have accumulated good deeds in the past, you will be rewarded this year. It is also a good year to accumulate good deeds as the merits will increase multiple folds.
In terms of money, there will be prosperity and luck in attracting money whether in your career or business.
From a relationship angle, the Rat will have a high chance of meeting someone who is sincere to you and potentially can be your life partner and build a future with him/her. Apart from that, the Rat also has Peach Blossom luck. Use this energy to persuade people to sell/market your products and convince people with your ideas.
However, one will be prone to arguments, shocks and unnecessary worries, but these will quickly be resolved with the presence of the Fortune Virtue and Heaven Virtue stars.

OX
It’s a rather challenging year for the Ox. Avoid Yin places like funeral parlours and try to avoid going to hospitals. You will be easily influenced by negative energy around these places.
With the presence of the Knife star, be careful of handling sharp objects and you will tend to be more aggressive this year, so do sufficient preparation so that you will not be hurt as a result. Avoid looking at eclipses and pray to the moon on every 15th of the lunar month.
There are chances of loss of wealth and feeling lonely throughout the year.
Nevertheless, you will have benefactors who will be able to provide you advice and wisdom to help you get over the above challenges, so please do not hesitate to ask for help when needed. There are also hidden opportunities that you may accumulate some wealth (e.g., indirect sources of income), so please be on the lookout of such opportunities from time to time.

TIGER
The Tiger has to be mindful of potential illness and should go for regular medical checkups. Take measures to boost your immunity especially in these Covid times. With the Golden Truck star, the Tiger has opportunity to accumulate wealth this year.

RABBIT
Rabbit is the Tai Sui or Minister in charge of this year. There will be added responsibilities but taking these in your stride will make you a better person. However, the presence of Tian Kong star may take away some opportunities that the Dragon may be pursuing or loss of items.

HORSE
The Moon star shines on the Horse, and he will easily draw people to him and convince them. You will be able to learn a new unique skill set and people will appreciate if you have it already. If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask, especially a female.
One will also be blessed with happiness energy, and there will be many happy occasions / events in the coming year. However, one will be prone to arguments, and may have conflict with your immediate family members and relatives. One will also feel trapped. Nevertheless, the presence of the Moon star will help to alleviate some of these negative stars.

With the Death Mark star, some things will come to an end in the coming year. You may be approached by people with ulterior motives, especially from the opposite sex, thus one should beware when dealing with unfamiliar people. There will be complaints filed against you and also be prone to lose your belongings or having things taken away from you unexpectedly. It is a challenging year for the Rooster as there are no positive stars. More importantly, the Rooster is in direct conflict with the Tai Sui or minister in charge for the year. Try to lie low and not to make big changes in your life. You will likely be making large expenditures, hence try to manage your finances carefully, spend wisely (e.g., investments instead of expenses) and do not overspend unnecessarily. There may be barriers to achieving what you want and things will progress not as much as you intended it to be. There will also be unexpected negative outcome along the way.

DOG
The Dog will reap gains from the Dragon Virtue star. You will be busier than ever and opportunities will come to fruition. Don’t stay still but seize any opportunity that comes your way, work on it diligently and there will be success. There will be hidden benefactors coming your way to help you out. The Dog will encounter benefactors who will be able to help in advancing or consolidate its career position. The Dog will also be able to command and get support from its subordinates well.
However, the Dog may be prone to suffer some form of defeat or obstacles and suffer stress from it. Don’t worry too much as the Dragon Virtue star will also suppress the other negative stars that affect the Dog.

PIG
This year, The Pig also does not have any positive stars with it. The Pig has the White Tiger to contend with this year. Don’t engage in dangerous activities or extreme sports as there is a high chance of physical.
