Kumar talks about his start with the sitar, 34 years ago. I met the 44-year-old, a new father of one child, when doing a story for Showtime! under the New Sunday Times Malaysia, about 10 years ago. Apart from discovering his artistry for the sitar, I also learnt his father taught me broadcast journalism at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang! He is also the festival director of the upcoming Shantanad Festival of the Arts at the Temple of Fine Arts.
